Games consoles, computers, mobiles and hand held consoles all ouput information on to displays, these displays can be built in or external however external displays usually have higher graphical capability because built in displays have to take power consumption into consideration.

Built in displays are found on mobile devices usually such as mobiles, protable gaming devices and tablets. Built in displays are a brilliant technology as they allow users to game on the move and with recent technology jumps buit-in displays have high resolution, high cotntrast and are visible in sunlight. The main downfall with Buil in displays is the pwer consumption, resoultion and size of the screen because hard core gamers want the best graphics, viewing angles, large screens and to be able to play for a sufficent time.
This is a PS Vita it uses a high resoultion screen however battery life only lasts for up to 6 hours of continues gameplay.
External
Gaming consoles such as the Xbox 360 And PlayStation 3 use external Displays therefore graphic quality at much higher resolution, power consumption doesnt need to be taken into cosideration and screen size is much higher.
Liquid Crystal
Liquid Crystal is one of the main technologies used within Flat screen tvs, the screen has a thin layer of Liquid within the screen which contains tiny crystals which can be manipulated by heat and electricty. When the TV is displaying an image the crystal will have lights shined on them and however they crystalled are manipulated they will shine and create a small amount piece of the image.
